We have a God who truly amazing. He loves us with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3). For us, there is nothing in this creation that can separate us from His love (Romans 8:36-ff). God’s mercy and grace for us is limitless (Ephesians 2:4; 2 Corinthians 9:8). He is a God of absolute justice and righteousness (Psalm 89:14). Our God is holy, being totally separate from this world, totally uncommon and pure (Isaiah 6:3). He is a God who is all-powerful, even creating and holding all of creations together (Colossians 1:16-17). I could go on for ages declaring the greatness of who God is.
But, one attribute He has been revealing to me lately is the truth that He is the God of possibilities. Abraham caught this revelation when he received the ability to be the Father of many nations. “…in the presence of Him whom he believed, even God, who gives life to the dead and calls into being that which does not exist” (Romans 4:17). For us to live life in a world of pain, sorrow, sin and death we must come to a place of knowing our God is a God of possibilities. If we lose sight of this truth we can become hopeless and depressed.
The disciples felt hopeless when Jesus was talking about salvation in Mark 10. “…Jesus answered again and said to them, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” They were even more astonished and said to Him, “Then who can be saved?” (Mark 10:24-26) It was in the context of talking about the impossibilities of people, that Jesus reveals the truth that can be an anchor for our souls in the storms of life. “Looking at them, Jesus said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God” (Mark 10:27).
When we come to a place where we know that God is the God of possibilities, we are never at a point of absolute defeat. When I faced the impossibility of the death of my mother and brother, God was able to take an impossible situation and turn it into the awesome possibility of eternal life and comfort for them. For centuries, mankind lived in the fear and hopelessness of death. But because of the possibilities that are generated out of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, death is no longer an impossibility for us who believe (John 11:25-26).
Not only in death is God the God of possibilities, but also in the life of this world. “I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living” (Psalm 27:13). In this world I can know that God is constantly working to cause all things to work out for my good. That is the awesomeness of a God of possibilities.
A person once told me I was like a little devil because I tormented my parents and others with my self-centered behavior. When I was a student, a guidance counselor declared I would never amount to anything. But the God of possibilities has changed my life, giving me family, friends and a church that love me.
I am the person who could not write a complete sentence when I graduated from High School, having to take freshman English as Junior in college. But the God of possibilities has me writing books and preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ all over the world.
Our God is the God of possibilities, and it is important for us to call the Holy Spirit to establish in our hearts that with God, truly all things are possible.
Response:
–Are there circumstances or people in your past who influenced you to think you are limited in your ability to fulfill God’s call on your life? If so, it’s time to forgive them, forgive yourself and confess, “All things are possible with God.”
–What obstacles seem impossible today? Ask the Holy Spirit for the faith to believe that God is a God of possibilities and that with His help you will overcome.

Thanks Rick. That really spoke!
Reading your posts on the The God of Possibilities, I wanted to share that
I have been meditating on this verse from Romans 15:13:
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
We have not only a God of possibilities, but also a God of HOPE. He can fill us with hope to believe, so we may ABOUND in hope. In hope of Him and the possibilities He can bring about through us and in our lives.
I am encouraged by your words and by your faith.
