Recently, Paula and I have been believing God about a number of seemingly impossible financial obstacles, such as the building of the Ministry Retreat Center in Pembroke. As I woke up one morning last week Mark 10:27, “All things are possible with God,” began to fill my heart. As the phrase stirred my soul, I could feel myself begin to fill with hope. I meditated on the passage all that week, but I did not know what to do or how to fully apply it.
This week, as I was preparing for an elders meeting, four verses containing the word “possible” came to life for me. The four verses were all quotes by Jesus in the Book of Mark, and in response I asked the Lord to reveal what He wanted me to know about the application of the passages.
As I have meditated on the passages I noticed there was an interesting progression in Jesus’ use of the word “possible”. In the coming days, as a way to begin the New Year, I will write about each passage and the progression the Lord has shown me. I invite you to join me in the unfolding revelation of that which God wants us to know about Him and His possibilities.
It’s a new year of possibilities! Please join us by sharing what God speaks to you. What you have to share may be the very thing that I or some other person needs to hear!
Here are the verses God has given me:
“Looking at them, Jesus said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God” (Mark 10:27).
“And Jesus said to him, “ ‘If You can?’ All things are possible to him who believes” (Mark 9:23).
“And He went a little beyond them, and fell to the ground and began to pray that if it were possible, the hour might pass Him by” (Mark 14:35).
“And He was saying, “Abba! Father! All things are possible for You; remove this cup from Me; yet not what I will, but what You will” (Mark 14:36).
